Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Wakr handles information when you use the Wakr mobile application, visit this website, or contact support. Wakr provides alarms, wake-up missions, routine settings, habit progress, and optional subscription features.
Supported camera, pose, text, brightness, and motion analysis used for mission verification runs on your device. Camera images and footage are not uploaded to Wakr to verify these missions.
Information Wakr processes
The information involved depends on the features you choose to use:
- Alarm and routine data: alarm times, repeat days, alarm labels, selected missions, alarm tone, and other preferences.
- Progress data: mission completion history, streaks, wake-up timing, and still-awake check results.
- Purchase information: subscription status and purchase entitlement supplied by Apple, Google, or a subscription-management provider. Wakr does not receive your full payment-card details.
- Support communications: your email address, message, and any device or diagnostic details you choose to include when asking for help.
- Website technical data: standard request and security information processed by the website host, which may include IP address, browser type, requested page, timestamps, and security logs.
Core alarm, routine, and progress data is stored on your device, including the display name you may enter during setup. Wakr does not create an advertising profile from your morning routine.
Permissions and device signals
Wakr asks for access only when it is needed for a feature you choose. Your operating system controls these permissions.
- Camera: used when you start a camera-verified mission, such as a movement, hygiene, light, or text-based task.
- Motion or activity: used for step counting in the walking mission where the platform requires it. The shake mission reads the raw accelerometer, which needs no permission.
- Notifications and alarm access: used to schedule and deliver alarms and related alerts.
- Network access: may be used for purchases, restoring plan access, support, app updates, and other online services you request.
You can deny or revoke a permission in your device settings. A feature that relies on that permission may stop working until access is restored.
How information is used
Wakr uses information to schedule and deliver alarms, verify the missions you select, save your preferences, display progress, confirm plan access, respond to support requests, maintain security, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and improve reliability.
When information is shared
Wakr does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Limited information may be handled by service providers only when needed to operate the service:
- Apple and Google: to process purchases, subscriptions, and restore requests under their own terms and privacy policies.
- Hosting, security, and support providers: to deliver the website, protect the service, or respond to a request you send.
- Authorities or other parties: when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users, investigate abuse, or defend legal rights.
Service providers are expected to protect information and use it only to provide their contracted services.
Storage, retention, and deletion
Alarm, routine, and progress data stored locally remains on your device until you remove it, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app. Support messages and limited technical or security records are kept only as long as reasonably needed to answer requests, operate and secure the service, meet legal obligations, or resolve disputes.
Purchase records are retained by Apple, Google, and any subscription-management provider according to their own policies. A privacy or deletion request can be sent using the contact details below. Wakr may need to verify the request and may retain information where required by law.
Security
Wakr uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information it handles. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Your choices and rights
You can review or revoke device permissions, edit or remove alarms and routines, manage subscriptions through the applicable app store, delete locally stored data by clearing the app or uninstalling it, and contact Wakr about access, correction, or deletion of information associated with you.
Depending on where you live, local law may provide additional privacy rights. Wakr will respond to valid requests as required by applicable law.
Children's privacy
Wakr is not directed to children under 13 or any higher minimum age required to consent to digital services where they live. Wakr does not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information should contact Wakr.
International use
Wakr may use service providers that process limited service data in countries other than your own. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for international transfers of personal information.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when Wakr adds features, changes service providers, or legal requirements change. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Additional notice will be provided when required by law.
